Community Counselling
In Every Situation There Is A Way Forward
From time to time
everyone faces situations in their
lives when there appears to be no way forward.
Talking to someone who cares about your troubles and is trained to help
you find the way through the situation is often all that is needed.
The Pathways counselors at South Perth Baptist Church are there to help
you find that way. They have been professionally trained through the
School of Social Work, Curtin University, the Baptist Counselling
Service of WA or other professional bodies.
Everything you say to a Pathways counsellor is strictly confidential.
All Pathways counsellors have
signed an oath of confidentiality. Information may be released only
with the consent of the person receiving counselling except where there
is a serious threat to someone or the commission of a serious crime.
Sessions are usually one hour long.
They may be weekly or fortnightly
and the number of sessions is worked out between the counsellor and the
client.
If you are unable to attend your session or need to postpone an
appointment, 24 hours notice will be required so your counsellor can
organise the time to help others. Less notice, unless there have been
unforseen circumstances, will require a fee to be paid.
Our standard fees are available on inquiry to the office or your
counsellor.
If this causes hardship another fee may be able to be negotiated with
the counsellor.
